Blake Griffin Announces Retirement After 14 Seasons in NBA

Former NBA All-Star Blake Griffin has officially announced his retirement from the league after 14 seasons. Griffin, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, made the announcement on social media Tuesday.
Griffin played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and Brooklyn Nets during his career. He was a six-time NBA All-Star and won the Kia Rookie of the Year award in 2011.
Griffin averaged 18.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game during his career. He was known for his high-flying dunks and athleticism.
Griffin's retirement comes after he was out of the league for the 2023-24 season. He last played for the Brooklyn Nets, who acquired him in a trade with the Boston Celtics in February 2023.
