Amazon EC2 Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Region-Level SLA

Amazon EC2 offers a Region-Level SLA that guarantees 99.99% availability of each EC2 Region. This SLA applies to all EC2 instances in a given Region, regardless of the instance type or size.

Coverage

The Region-Level SLA covers all aspects of EC2 availability, including:

  • Instance uptime
  • Network connectivity
  • Storage availability

Service Credits

If Amazon EC2 fails to meet the Region-Level SLA, customers are eligible for service credits. The amount of the service credit will depend on the severity of the outage.

Instance-Level SLA

Amazon EC2 also offers an Instance-Level SLA that guarantees 99.9% availability of each EC2 instance. This SLA applies to all EC2 instances, regardless of the instance type or size.

Coverage

The Instance-Level SLA covers all aspects of EC2 instance availability, including:

  • Instance uptime
  • Network connectivity
  • Storage availability

Service Credits

If Amazon EC2 fails to meet the Instance-Level SLA, customers are eligible for service credits. The amount of the service credit will depend on the severity of the outage.
